What makes Tohmé Jewelry different?

At Tohmé Jewelry, we prioritize our clients by offering a personalized, step-by-step experience in creating custom pieces. Whether you're designing something new or looking to better understand the world of fine jewelry, we provide one-on-one advice to guide you through every decision.

Does Tohmé Jewelry also offer natural diamonds and gemstones?

Yes, Tohmé Jewelry does offer natural diamonds and gemstones upon request. We stem from a long history working with natural diamonds, but have found that lab-grown diamonds are giving natural diamonds a run for their money. They’re created using the same carbon structure and grown from a duplicated natural diamond seed, making them chemically and visually identical, yet more ethical and affordable. Whether you choose natural or lab-grown, we’re here to provide expert guidance and full transparency every step of the way.

Where is your jewelry made?

Each piece is designed and crafted in Los Angeles using time-honored techniques. We work closely with local artisans and suppliers to ensure ethical practices throughout the process, and ensure our diamond suppliers uphold the same ethical standards and values that define our brand.

Do you offer custom or bespoke pieces?

Yes, we specialize in bespoke designs, with a strong focus on custom engagement rings. Whether you're repurposing a cherished family heirloom or starting from scratch, we work closely with each client to create a meaningful, one-of-a-kind piece that reflects their story and style. To begin your custom project, text us or fill out our form to book a consultation.

How long does it take to create a custom piece?

Depending on the complexity, custom projects typically take 3–6 weeks from concept to completion. Rush orders may be available upon request. We always share renderings for final approval to ensure our clients are fully aligned before moving forward with the next steps.

How is one piece of jewelry made, and who’s involved in the process?

Making one piece of jewelry takes several steps and usually involves 6 to 10 people. It starts with a design consultation, followed by sketches and 3D renderings. Once approved, the piece is modeled, cast in metal, cleaned, and polished. Stones are then selected and set by hand, and the final piece is polished again before going through quality checks and packaging. Each person, from the designer to the setter, plays an important role in bringing the piece to life.

Consultation & Design Concept – Meeting with the client to understand their vision and needs.

  1. Sketching & CAD Rendering – A designer translates the concept into detailed sketches and 3D digital renderings.

  2. Client Approval – The client reviews and approves the final design before production begins.

  3. Wax Modeling or 3D Printing – The design is turned into a physical model.

  4. Casting – The model is used to create a mold, and the piece is cast in precious metal.

  5. Cleaning & Polishing (Pre-setting) – The cast piece is cleaned and pre-polished.

  6. Stone Sourcing & Selection – Diamonds or gemstones are sourced, matched, and approved.

  7. Stone Setting – A setter carefully secures each stone in place.

  8. Final Polishing & Finishing – The piece is polished to perfection, and any details are refined.

  9. Quality Control & Packaging – The finished piece is inspected for quality before being packaged and delivered.
